Me + 1. Can I suggest we bring our own meat/bbq things to do on bbq on the "patio" and ask Mick to do spuds and salad ???

Could be 2 could be 4.

Spuds and salad by Bradwell a good idea.
Centaurpipedream is appointed Chef de Liaison.

This lack of BBQ activity will have all the males restless without sufficient to tax their minds, so I suggest we organise a game of sloping rounders on the grass to offset the surplus energy load, bit like an anode I guess.
I will find the bat and ball, someone else can provide the piles of jumpers.

Who wants to form a challenging team?

Who wants to be on my team?

sadly

We will be depart these shores for warmer places (thats if terminal 5 lets us)
However we did sail around to Bradwell on Tuesday secured the boat and retired to the Greenman for sustanance.
As the first Guinness smoothly disapeared and the fire thawed out our bones all in the world seemed right.
Then horror of horrors we were informed we have run out of Guinness, after scanning the pumps for something that would that the place of the holy water only to draw a blank.
A quick scan of the shelf containing the fire water revealed a bottle of 10 year old single malt Bushmills. Praise the lord we were saved.
Two glasses were delivered and we were relieved of £5, simultaneously we peered a long long way to the bottom of our glasses searching for our £2.50 worth. We toasted a good days sailing quickly before the precious liquid evaporated, a rapid retreat saw us headed back to Artemis where the celler is well stocked with stout (Thats Guinness to english folk)
Disaster averted a pleasant evening was had. Really really would have liked to be a the BBQ, perhaps another later in the year I will host a Cypriot style BBQ at Fambridge

Have fun and be sure to post some pics of the event

Re: Bradwell BBQ

Thanks for the offer Dougie. I shall have to wait and see. If that's alright by you. There is still work to be done on BR and only two weekends to accomplish it before she is booked for launch.

But wait, silly me. In your tardis we will probably be able to get to Bradwell before we have left, so I will have plenty of time to do all my boat chores AND do the BBQ. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

More seriously, what would your plans be? When were you thinking of going/coming back? Could I get some work done and do some socialising? Or is that being greedy?

Re: Bradwell BBQ

Well, alas, I have checked the tides again, as Moody (Roger) pointed out a time difference and mentioned that I would be Ploughing up the creek, and on closer inspection, I have noticed that I got my tides and times wrong.. (Its amazing what can be forgotten over winter!!)

The tides are all wrong for me to come up from the Medway.. Any chance of bringing it forward a week??..LOL.. oh well, next time..
