Bradwell BBQ Sat 3rd May Roll Call

Probably me plus my dad as we will be in Maylandsea putting on the running rigging etc ready for sailing round on the sunday. If we are all set by the time she floats off the mud we might bash round on the saturday.

Hopefully enough jobs will have been done for us to go in the water next weekend even if there is a fair bit of wiring and cosmetics requiring attention.

[/ QUOTE ]Mr & Mrs Chellers are bringing our own not-so-wee one of a canine kind, of course (unless anyone has any violent objection).

Vreny & Mr Vreny will be there.... but by road as Vreny still engineless and no antifoul. In fact, the antique heads still needs to be connected, depth transducer re-looked at after Solene's doubts about Mr Vreny's use of red lead putty, and and and......

Told Mick today to expect 20 grown ups and 6 children or thereabouts on Saturday. BBQ light up 4.30 for 5pm onwards use and he will do spuds and salad and supply charcoal for us to BBQ at our leisure. See you all there /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hi all,

Just rang Bradwell marina to warn them Chellers is coming on Saturday and they sounded rather dubious that they'd have room for extra visitors as they have 2 clubs coming in that day. I informed them that the YBW Forum was coming, 8ish boats, and they hope to squeeze us in but weren't sure. They were particularly dubious about fitting a large cat in so we'll go as early as we can to maximise our options - this they also recommended.

They requested that all potential visitors phone or fax them on Saturday morning with boat details, particularly boat width, so they can try to arrange to fit everyone in. Phone 01621 776235 / 776391; fax 01621 776393.

When I mentioned CentaurPipedream's name the chappie seemed a bit more laid back but worth bearing in mind they weren't sure of fitting us in (particularly Chellers).

Hey guys - we might be late joiners - are we too late. Prob won't get into the marina but might anchor off and whiz in... Will we spoil the numbers me + swmbo + 2 girls

If the wind is light, and it does look that way at this long range, then for a boat of your draft there is a quite tenable anchorage outside the creek into Bradwell, and then just a very short ride in the tender into the marina if needed...

[/ QUOTE ]Thanks for the advice. This doesn't really work with the dog as the idea of her in the dinghy takes years off my life expectancy. I think we'll make sure we're there as early as possible (probably 10-ish) and hope to get in. Having never been to Bradwell I don't know if there's any chance of rafting up to anyone else if we can't get our own mooring. Stlll we'll give it a go and hope that the early bird catches the worm - or pontoon space.
