Has anyone fitted a bow thruster to a 36ft boat recently ?

If you dont want to post the cost I would appreciate a pm please.

I thought someone in my marina had fitted a side shifter for about £1700 but I could be wrong.

And I assume tunnel ones cost a lot more ?

Article in this month's PBO on exactly that subject. Parts came to just under 3000 Euros including tunnel cabling and battery and about a week's DIY

depends if 1 or 2 station, and if any complications but we fit them.

Your FB will need 80kg thrust (60 would do for a sport 36) and 2 stations.

I've sent you an email.......

Fitted a tunnel to a P33 for £1500. Excellent work, and only the slightly longer tube would be needed for a 36 footer.
Add to the costs of the bowthruster, and the wiring, of you cannot do it yourself. I fitted 2 x12 volt batteries in a sidelocker, so the wiring was doddle. The control system, was a loom which just plugged into the motor, and was very easy to fit into the wheelhouse instrument panel

Tube fitted in Ipswich £500 all fairing and copper coat to match
Sidepower SE65 £1700 with all controls and remote
Gel battery, cables, box and bits £260
Sterling battery to battery charger £240

Berthing at a small marina at the end of a long day PRICELESS :)

Did the electrics myself. Fitted a battery box at the bows. Very short cables to the bowthruster.
