I have a bow thruster side power sp55si.
The anode that goes onto the hub of the prop is proving stubborn.
The bolt itself removes OK but I can't get the thimble shaped anode to come off.
Prop itself is plastic but I guess the axle could be getting attacked.
I replaced the Hull anode which must be about 5 metres away.

Any tips on how to get it off? Maybe drill a screw into it and yank?
How worried should I be?
Is it worth dangling the anode over the side on a piece of line as a stop gap?

I'm on a trot mooring in the river without shore power.
Thanks all

Sidepower anodes can be stubborn to remove. Last time I changed mine, I used a small pair of adjustable pliers to grip the anode and wobble it until it came off.

I changed two last year - May - and they were stuck fast.

I was advised to use a multi tool saw blade to cut int the sides. The back and forth action of the saw blade shook them loose.

When the new ones arrived, I chucked them in my lathe and cut an M8 thread through where the bolt fits. Next time they need to come off, an M8 screw tightened into the thread should allow the screw to push them off against the shaft. That is how many motorcycle generator rotors are removed.

I cant see why Sleipner dont do it as standard. It they put a bit more metal there, there would be a stronger area to thread.

This is what I did when I couldn't remove mine , the vibration did the job.
My problem now is trying to remove one of the prop , one comes off with just a little tap , the other just way not come away , other then cutting it I can't think of any thing eles to do.
