Boot 2022

My line manager who has dual German/British nationality has not travelled to Germany to see his family this Christmas due to concerns over enforced quarantine in the event of a positive Covid test result. Also concerns over flight cancellations if flight crew test positive .

Just a heads up if thinking of driving to the continent
As of last night UK nationals are denied entry into France if passing through even if they have residency in another EU country, a new directive has been issued to the border guards/customs in France, it does not apply to EU nationals only those from a 3rd country.
A few people I know that were heading home to Belgium on the Euro Tunnel got to France and were turned back.

Sadly no is the answer. Princess have already confirmed they will not be exhibiting which is a shame. I was looking forward to visiting.

As things stand the UK is classified as an area of variants of concern by the German government. That means even if you are a fully vaccinated German citizen you need to quarantine for 14 days on arrival in Germany with no option to test and release easrly.

I suspect something will be organised early ish 2022 by UK builders to offer at least some form of showcase.

It’s a moving platform but exhibitors need time to build, erect and stock their stands so even if rules changed nearer the time it would be too late.

Timing for Boot D in the middle of winter indoors doesn’t make it very virally friendly. At least Cannes was outside and in the summer.

I’ve already got flights and a hotel. I was hoping the ridiculous overreaction to omicron would be over by then but it seems most governments are clinging to the group think. Spin in the media is starting to change which will hopefully drive more balanced policies but as others have said it is likely too late.
