Ah but winter's not so bad
Good days can be found
Let autumn's gales blow themselves out
Then out to sea and round

Slip work's dreary moorings
Ignore the cold for sure
Flat seas, bright days and a full tank
Who could wish for more?

The harbour's all but empty
The liveaboard's, gone home
The channel is all yours now
The sea is yours to roam

No jet skis to harass you
Your Musto's warm and snug
Your hands are bloody freezin'
But thats the only bug.

Its said if you don't use them
That motor boats get ill
I wouldn't know, I couldn't tell
My Windy's never still

And back into the harbour
Mooring's not a pain
'Cos there's no one there to witness
That you cocked it up again

Then slip into the yacht club
And drink a jar or two
Some banter with your boaty mates
Will see the winter through
