I love Wansworth's thread about a "small fast 20 footer", and it got me thinking about the rather alarming variety of boats I've owned.

They are:

Heron dinghy
National 12
Manta 16, 'Lazy Prawn'
Cormandel, 'Shoggle 2'
MG30, Name?
Moody 33, 'Balki'
Halcyon 27, 'Landfall'
Carter 33, 'AmyK'
Westerly Discus, 'Sonny Boy'
Seahopper (pretty close to a folding Mirror)
Maurice Griffith's Tidewater (gaff cutter built by John Tyrell), 'The Cause'. Wow .... a beautiful, characterful boat
Hunter 490, ?
Comanche catamaran (big sister to the Iroquois), 'Aileen'
Trident 24, 'Mary Reeve of Hamble'
Westerly Falcon, 'Celtic Spirit'
Seamaster 34 (TSDY), 'Arandala'

So many happy memories from them all.

Anyone else want to play?

Edit: I forgot.....

Seadog 30, 'Nicola Jane'
Snapdragon 670, 'Lady Helma'
Solo
Tamarisk 29 (plastic gaff cutter), 'Laxy Gander'
James Wharram Pahi 31, 'Tai Nui'
Supergrad

Neal, so many! I think you should do a bit more research before buying :giggle:
I've only owned two sailing boats in 36 years, first one 16 years, current one 20 years and it will probably see me out.
PS Thinking about it, swapping and changing is expensive - current house 40 years, wife 43 years!

I think, perhaps, that I do too much research: I love reading about different boats, and think, "oooh, now I'd like to own of those".

And owning different boats has been great fun (learning their likes and dislikes, their strengths and weaknesses).

If I could go back, The Cause was (and still is) a very special boat.

I've been a bit more circumspect with houses: only 8 owned, to date.

And wives ..... well ...... not one!! I've never been the marrying sort (I really can't see any point to it). I have, however, lived, and sailed, with Joscelyn since, I think, 1983.

GP 14 Gizmo
Ridgeway Pirate 17ft Gremlin
Macwester 26 'Marcus'
Catalac 8M 'Cat Ballou'-for which I think I bought an In Mast Roller Furling gear and sail off your Comanche Catamaran. The Commanche sail insignia which was not removable really confused people about my boat!

Halcyon 27 ‘jumbly girl’
Prout quest 31 ‘spam’

Happy with the choices all were a pleasure to sail and I doubt we’ll be making any changes again and just stick with our trusty Prout

My gob is thoroughly smacked by some of the catalogues above. For me, only:
A moulded ply cat-rigged pram made by Prout in the '50s
A Firefly No1671
Westerly Cirrus 22'
Mystere Flyer 26'
Sadler 29
Hallberg-Rassy 34, my current pride and joy.
