I dont know but my left trouser leg tends to get dirty in locks when I'm going upstream. Ive also found it a good idea to have some diesel in the tank./forums/images/icons/smile.gif
Last year in the huntress about 900 miles and about 130 engine hours I think it was, mostly round the solent, one really good day trip to Weymouth, this year with the Huntsman, hopefully more but probly less as still fitting curtains and bogs and radios and fixing bloody leaks and......oh shite, I want a plastic boat...
<hr width=100% size=1>Wanted - Austin Healey 110/6 or 3000 to rebuild, LHD considered.
Boat almost 2 years old now (a fortnight to go!)
215 hours on clock and trip shows total of 2352 nautical miles. So in answer to your question just over 100 hrs.
Happy boating!!!
The men in white coats failed to arrive, as did the post, Parcelforce, Omega Express and TNT....bet theyll all turn up tomorrow just after I have to go out for half an hour!
OK, serious answer..........say 20 weekends @4hrs/day = 160 plus 14 days summer cruise up to Oxford and back at 4 hrs/day=56 give or take a few so around 200 hrs total = twice as many as you 'real' sailors down on the coast!
Actually, I probably do more than that with the odd winter day out......
I actually wonder what the mix is between being on the boat with it going and the time spent at anchor? In my case I reckon it's probably 10-15% travelling at most, with most days out from the marina within an hour, then up to 10 hours anchored in some bay somewhere.
