Boat transportation recommendations

Wanting to transport a 22ft bilge keel from Canvey to the south coast. Anyone have any recommendations or advice? Thank you.

Yes - you should be able to do it easily in a few days with overnight stops. Say Canvey to Ramsgate; Ramsgate to Dover; Dover to Eastbourne; Eastbourne to Brighton; Brighton to the Solent etc.

I sold my 26ft Snapdragon to a man from Dublin - he turned up with a hired 4x4 and a proper road trailer and towed it home. If there's a crane each end then you don't need much to move a small boat (other than nerves).

Depending on how long you have had the boat this may not be a sensible option. Do you know the boat, the rig, engine etc - if like me your 'new' boat has been sitting ashore for a couple of seasons there are loads of gremlins to sort out before making this trip. I put my boat in the water mid August with just two weekends preparation and yard replacing rig to get some local sailing. The main work starts when she comes ashore for the winter.
