BOAT TAKEN TO ANOTHER MARINA HELP

what exactly are you saying Sailorman? The poster has stated that they have no experience at all .Seems very wise to get some expert help in my opinion.

Frank and Margaret Dye didnt cross the North Sea on their first ever attempt at sailing did they?

Suzikatie has already stated that they are novices, personally I think that they are showing good sense in getting help to move the boat. If you havn't crossed the Deben Bar before its always useful to have someone who has with you if only for moral support.

Re: THIS ONE?

That's not Fox's Marina, looks more like Hull Marina visitors pontoon, where this Yacht has been berthed for some time.

[/ QUOTE ] Sorry I must have misunderstood you I thought you were suggesting they didnt need one.

You didnt explain what exactly you were ranting about.

If I wasn't over here - baltic - and hooked into the Cherbourg trip when back in UK .... I would have gladly helped you get your boat round to her new place ... as I think many other peeps on the forum ...

That way you would get benefit of "experienced" help and a bit of practical hands on ... albeit a short trip.

It's well to note that there are people on these forums that are boatless for various reasons and have experience that could crew and help you get on with the boat ... as long as with such a boat you don't run before you walk ... a 40ft'r is a dream for most and you have plumped right in at first buy ! It's a lot of boat to handle .... yes its true there are smaller boats that can be a right so&so ... but 40ft is a lot to get wrong.

Welcome to the best pastime since slicing bread !! It get;s in the blood and there is no cure ...

As to your falling in love with the wide open deck .... my wife has 2 desires on a boat ... (3 but that is for me to know about !) .... 1) big bed and comfortable .... 2) plenty of flat deck to sun on .....

Looks like a Trident 40 for me next !!!

Very best of luck to you and enjoy it ....
