Boat swap

I was thinking, my boat is worth roughly what the sort of boat I want next is worth, but by the time I sell mine using a broker etc. I will need more money to get the other one.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to have some sort of swap shop website? Okay, so would still need to pay out for surveys but still could be a good idea.

I think that could work well, especially for 'part' exchanges. I am looking to downsize so with someone upsizing we would be both be happy with minimal pain!

i have a 3 bedroom detached house in kissimmee near disney with garage, pool and jacuzzi and would love to swap for boat here for about 130 - 150k
kids grown up and dont like micky anymore...lol

Before deciding between sell/buy or swap, to avoid broker fees, also consider to sell privately. If you sell with a px option you will get both chances.

You are apparently going to handle the swap situation by yourself so a self-sale shouldn't be any more difficult.

The sell/buy scenario leaves you so much more choise (I'm at that point myself just now) and as hard as it is to find the right next boat, I'd regard it close to impossible to get a perfect swap.

Apart from that the idea is perfect as is saves both money and time

On the other hand a broker might be a wise choise if you get one of the true pro's. And vice versa
