Valid point as I said not sticking up for him just trying to explain that stretch for others that don't know it as in there s nothing there (apart from wildlife at certain times of year).

Used to drive along that road on the way to and from college was constantly amazed at what I saw almost overtaking me!

I think we saw this lad over Easter hols and I made a conscious decision not to yell as the wash wash very little despite him being on the plane. I could however list a few names of 30 foot plus boats who speed and cause the mooring lines to stretch and the boats to bang hard and ontop of that are very abusive when asked to slow down!

I know who I would want prosecuted.

How about if there were kids swimming in the Desborough Cut as they sometimes do ..... nice narrow cut , not a lot of time to react at 30 knots , would you see a head poking up out of the water in time ?

I agree with you Richard and the points you make, obviously nobody about so just having a bit of a blast, but the nonchalant attitude doesn't help things. A boat that size make neglible wake at that speed, and you would hope that he is sensible enough to pick a quiet time to do it when there are no other folk or boats about, a bit chilly for swimming this time of year. A bit of a talking to by the authorities wouldn't hurt, just to make sure that he is aware of the consequences, and that he doesn't think he has carte blanche to do whatever he likes. Just To sort this out, I am not the one with the youtube account or the one who posted the videos or bragged about it, that was actually a friend who was the one filming on his phone and everyone thinks that was me but it isnt.
