boat speeding down the thames video

Reminds me of that bloke that filmed himself on his motorbike doing speeds of over 100. He filmed his route right back to his front door and posted it on You tube. Didn't take long for plod to catch up with him.

funny enough I saw a speeding boat on the Desborough Cut last week. It wasn't a Shetland but a small open dory type boat with a couple of 16 year olds armed with fishing rods.. they were weaving around and having great fun with no regard of the speedlimit....
 
I was approached by two police people on Saturday morning on Pangbourne Meadow to see if I could "help them with their enquiries", someone was speeding up and down the reach during the evening before - supposedly at 20 knots! Normally we find things knocked over in the boat when that happens but no sign of anything so we couldn't help apart from telling them about the noisy kids we heard on our way back from the pub. Half a canoe and some chairs were dragged out of the river nearer to the canoe centre so I expect they encountered some damage that night.
 
Can't wait for the EA to take delivery of their new patrol boats

Shouldn't be too difficult to track down ... it's obviously on the Shepperton/Sunbury reach , and there are some distinctive scratches to the outboard decals ...

I'm not surprised about that, I remember when that company started up a couple of years ago thinking that petrol V8 powered American sports crusiers would not make good hire boats, it was only a matter of time before one got done.

By the way the speed limit is 5mph not 5knts, i've been shouted at before now for speeding at 5knts /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
