What a day Thursday! I had a guy view Ki-La my Drago 600 and put down a deposit about a week ago, but he had not seen the trailer. I sent him lots of pictures, and whilst it was supplied as a package with the boat from new it had not really been used. I kept her in a marina, and the previous owner dry stacked her (he is the Comander of HMS Turbulence the nuclear submarine)
We got down to Torquay mid morning and I quickly took the new owners brother out for a quick blast around the bay with rain running down the inside of my "waterproof" coat. We then tried to get the boat on the trailer. Although there was not that much wind, with the canopy up there was enough wind and water movement to blow the stern off as I tried to motor on to the trailer. The new owner was not impressed, but eventually it was done, the cash balance was sorted and he was hitched up ready to go. She did seem light on the hitch and didnt seem to sit that well on the trailer, but the addition of a new winch post and new wobble rollers would sort the problems. Any way, she has gone and the cash is in the bank.
We have had the offer accepted on the Bavaria 29DC through Ancasta and are booked in for a sea trial on the 16th with volvopaul to oversee the mechanicals, followed by a lift and survey - really looking forward to it now I dont have the hassle of potentially berthing two boats. New berth resevered in MDL Torquay, hopefully all will go well with sea trial etc. Will keep you informed and will need some advice...want to make some modifications once the deal is done!!
