Boat Show pictorial report

Today I went to my first boat show of the year ! At La Ciotat.., also known as the Marseille boat show…..here is what I saw

Most of you know La Ciotat with it’s spectacular setting and old world charm….what you might not know is that it has a excellent reputation as a culinary delight …with many restaurants and new wave cuisine

You probably also know it’s superyacht shipyard which is always busy looking after these floating treasure houses…

The boat show is just around the corner in the New Port

It is a warm sunny blustery day

There was old stuff…

and new stuff…

What’s the red pole on the black boat, is it a ski pole.

I think you mean from the photo I deleted because it was out of focus.....but it is an electric hydrofoil boat....I assume that as the boat gathers speed the poles lower (there is two up front and one on the back) and there are foils for feet

The big news is outboards…there are now outboards on everything…inboards might be dying off

And the really big news is this…the size of a small office block…500 horsepower

Wait...are you talking about the little colored rib ?....it’s just a free standing advertising banner on a pole

There were other boats as well

There were second hand boats and electric cars and motorcycles
