Does anyone know where the S'hampton boat show is in relation to the West Quay shopping centre.

Can I park in the West Quay, leave Mrs Bottle of to shop and walk to the boat show?

Bout 5 mins walk. You will need to get there early to get a space, I would recommend the Park and Ride.

If anybody is thinking of parking at Town Quay.... I wouldnt. Clamping there is rife, and there are only about 100 public spaces available during the week. Also, think of your fellow sailors who have a berth at TQ, who wont be able to park to get to their boats. ABP in their wisdom have decided not to cordon off an area for them this year, which is typical of the dire service they provide now. Greed has taken over and they are desperate to fill in the marina to build offices/shops etc. Rant...rant..rant..rant..rant..rant..rant..rant..rant..rant..rant..rant..rant..rant..rant..rant..rant..rant..rant..rant..rant..rant..rant..rant!!!!!!!!!

Quite agree about your rant, I'm afraid I had words with the Marina security during Cowes week about no cordoned off area for berth holders, they used some excuse about not being allowed since the clampers came in, they kindly suggested that I use the public park behind the old BT building, just what you want when you are lugging gear (20 min parking was full of security staff cars) !

On the filling it in front, I was down there yesterday, and there was an group taking photo's from the end of town quay of the marina, and then downloading to a laptop, probably doing artists immpressions or something, do you know how much longer the marina's life is, when I asked at the start of this year I got about 5 ish years ?.

As for boat show parking, I might not even try the Quay, I will probably park in Hythe and get the ferry, less hassle.

Yes, this is the way I do it, it's a very short walk and I've never had a problem parking at West Quay. Beats all that park and ride hassle.

A management change would be nice.. you have probably heard about the guy who said the ferry wash was dangerous, so the manager said that the complainant should make it official so he can close the marina!!

Such a shame when the rest of ABP are so friendly and helpful.
