I share your pain - I have a list of about 100 hours worth of jobs - most of which is machine polishing, teak refinishing and polishing stainless fittings... It'll be worth it in the end!

I am enjoying an evening with the Silverline and Dual Action Polisher on board (boat in the water) working on the Coach roof here in the Hamble - 2-3 knots running below us tho.

Careful not to burn the gelcoat with the silverline.

How much of boat do you have to do.

She's a Princess 385, but I'm not doing the hull (that gets done when she's ashore). All the superstructure to do. Have to remove the lift the dot fasteners to avoid shredding the mop, and take off the flybridge screen to get to the top of the coaming...

About a quarter of the polishing completed on Rafiki. More this weekend. Last weekend was an SAE 30 injection. About 50 litres. Found the port alternator drive belt slack. Real mission due to the cover removal. Filters were on the limit of my strength to loosen off. Only fitted hand tight! Covered in bruises and scratches, but need to recover to hit the polishing next weekend.

Good luck, probably my most hated task.
I've been incredibly lucky with this new boat though, every time I've got the silverline out, it's started to rain

I'm really quite envious....I love polishing and wish I had more time to get down there at this time of year to get the boat looking really super and shiny. I think there's such a lovely feeling walking up to your boat after you've done a good machine polish and everything is just glistening in the sun. Good luck and hope it goes well.

Have you tried the SnapOn filter removers?

Always have a b***h of a job getting my oils off (always fitted hand tight with a smear of oil on the seal) - broke umpteen chain type, plies type don't have enough leverage. Someone on this forum advised the strap type SnapOn, hasn't failed yet.

I put a breaker bar on it and apply a ridiculous amount of force, but it doesn't break and the filters eventually yield..
