Boat out for the winter (Pictures)

The Italian builds of the eighties had quite an edge look about them. Futuristic yet classic in the same time.
Love your Enterprice DM, as I do like the old Ferrettis (44&52 Altura S models), Mochis (44,46), Italcraft (45,58&51Open), Marchi (42&48), and the Zuccon designed Posillipo Technema (51,52 etc). And if you mention bigger sizes you have also the Sanlorenzo 57, Mondomarine M60, and Tecnomarine T62. Many mention Riva but I think the Superamericas of the eighties where still very much seventies looking and based on the old 42, altough the 58 Furama launched in 88 and sold in only nine examples was a very forward future design.
For me the Posillipo 52 Technema launched in 1986 was the eighties yacht of the future as to what regards its exterior looks and interior plans. That was why in 1990 Ferretti took Zuccon, what was surely a pivotal move for Ferretti in the years ahead.
Keep it up thats a timeless boat and looks tidy and very well maintained.

Is this a Zuccon design ?
what can you tell us about the MTU V-drive ?
don't know much about it, but seems a clever system at that time,
I wonder why it is not more common in modern european boats,
advantage for space and weight distribution or not ?

sorry Alf for the Thread drift, but it is all about beautifull and Timeless boats :)

LOL.. no problem..

Thank you all for the kind words about the mature lady ... She is not the most spacious, nor the most efficient, but she can handle the rough stuff with some style... and we kind of like her ... and most people we meet are interested in her as she does not conform to modern standards .. :)

Thats a sweet babe IMO. Very spacious, and a very seaworthy boat. Intially the 185 Fly was named the 58 Altura (different flybrode and not designed by Zuccon) and was Ferretti flagship in 1991. The model was named 185S recognizable by Silver lines by the windows, and new plan to the main deck, and 65 in its last year 1997 production.
Ferretti used Vee drives since mid eighties, and my friends 40 Altura (86-88) from 1988 has them too. But engines where still located midship but center of gravity is moved further foward that is why it planes at 11 knots.

As Pisa, Canados and Itama of which the last I am in love with, did mention them cause I concetrated on the fibgerglass, and flybridge models. But Canados 58 of which I have seen a nice example this summer should have been with the big ones there.
