Boat on the hard

Does anyone stay on their boat while it's on the hard standing?

At the Upper Thames M.Y.C. people often stay on their boats (on the hard) over the weekend especially after functions. Talking of functions they can take care of bodily ones in the Clubhouse and make their meals there etc.

Not a chance, if that was likely to happen then the first big wind (not the anal type) would blow it over. I am of course assuming the craft is properly set up.

no, the boat won't fall over. Or at any rate, if it was gonna fall over, it would get blown over early on, and you wandering around won't make any difference. Most of the weight is transmitted straight down under keel, hence large lunks of wood underneath. Useful to get decent ladder lashed to the side, cos it's a long way down.

Matts assumes that Paulineb is an ordinary lady, oh no. Pauline's got MrB slaving night and day making her a spiral staircase from ground up to boat lined with red velvet carpet. Its ok, its a silly mistake to make!
