I've vague recollections that in his last 'salvage' thread it was suggested that he was receiving care for mental health issues.

Let's hope that the care will assist his quality of life.

In reality you'll get nothing like that. Not even in county court unless you have a written contract.

Quite possibly.

But he'd need to prove he has a £500 agreement in the first place. His word verses theirs... His recording isn't admissible. He can submit a transcription of the call, but how does he prove it is valid.

But he's back now so the salvage claim must have been settled almost immediately this time.

Rescue the boat if it is safe to do so, and take any thanks/reward that may be offered but don;t do it in expectation of said reward.

I believe that 'rescuing' stranded boats may also jeapordise the owner's insurance claim.
