My first boat, a Dory which I kept in Greece for 10 years was ‘The Good Ship Venus’
My next boat of note was a Shetland Family Four that forever wanted to head westward over the horizon called ‘The Pequod’
My current boat is a Copland Foxhound, it’s name is ‘F’ in the phonetic alphabet, pronounced in English as Foxtrot. “This is yacht Foxtrot, I spell Foxtrot…”B0571B3F-769F-4245-80F1-223C78CA05EC.jpeg

I knew a couple many years ago called Rouse who called their daughter Charlotte, they couldn’t understand why their friends were amused.

Not quite in the same vein, but one of our receptionists had four sons. Her husband was called Jeremy and they gave all the bo yes names beginning with J! She didn’t seem to envisage the problem at some future date when letters would arrive addressed to J. Xxx. I was well aware as there were 3 J’s in our family and it did cause some friction. One particular occasion was when my stepbrother opened a letter addressed to my sister from her boyfriend!! The row went on for days.

Very many years ago, I knew a guy whose surname is Nurse. He got a Ph D so he became Doctor Nurse. He married a nurse so she became Nurse Nurse. When they had a daughter, they named her Sarah Ruth - S.R.N.
I wonder what Paul is up to these days?
