Snap... Funky monkey +1
Thanks guys, had a quick look and FM it is then.
But any ideas on what size would be "normal" on a 22 footer? Daft question at first glance (but not as daft as others!) but there's not a lot of boats near me where I can nip out and have a look. I'd like to get them ordered and take them with me next time see the boat.
There will be a shop or unit in the nearest big town which has the computer equipment to print "Alea" in the font of your choosing. Try marketing supplies or similar - it's the same stuff that goes on the sides of vans etc. Also, they'll tell you how to put it on - using a spray with water and a bit of washing up liquid no doubt? Don't try and do it dry if you want a good result!
I don't understand how water will improve the adhesive's grab.
Too small looks silly. From memory, I have the name in 10cm and the port of registry in 5cm, and that looks OK. That's on a 26-footer, but on yours I would go for the same.

Do the SSR number and your port of registration too if you want it on your transom, while there is still space
Vinyl signs. Any signmaker these days will do it for you. You can supply your own graphics as a JPG file to make it even cheaper...
