The blue hulled trawler yacht far right of the raft is my brother's m/y Silver Dee
It's impressive how tall she looks - almost as much as Match, or am I mistaken? Does she have a double deck along the whole boat?

Anyway, great videos indeed, can't wait to see more.
Btw, in spite of the evident pro touch in the second one, I actually prefer the "feeling" communicated by the first.
Really shows what boating is all about, well done! :encouragement:

Great thread, loved the videos so much I whizzed them over to the Apple TV so we could watch in on the main TV screen.
Did I spot a certain persons T40 in the background during the evening video?

The dancing just needs a bit of work!!
Yup, that's jimmy's t40 at 3:00 and A+K/Nick_H's sq58/pr57 immediately after. I have zillions of footage of their boats too. Need to edit it

Separately, I doubt many on here will know what it means without googling, but your kids might say wow if you tell that we had vloggers Joe Sugg ("ThatcherJoe", and Zoella's brother) and Caspar Lee ("Caspar") on the boat on Saturday. They were delightful guests

It was a quick iMovie job by me on the plane back to London last night Toby. Very easy because the clips I had straight from the camera's SD card were perfect to work with. I didn't crop or enhance/faff with anything

Do tell J, whereabout?
Some friends we had onboard left today, Deleted User will fly back home tomorrow, and Pinnacle will only arrive next Monday.
Therefore, Swmbo is already planning for me a strict week of diet, to recover from the overindulgence of August...
An unforeseen visit from yet another forumite would be a great excuse for some decent eating & drinking!

Ah sorry to disappoint P, but we are a long way from you in Sanremo, and only here for one night - heading back to France tomorrow. Another time, I hope.

Great vids JFM, many thanks. It has taken a while to get sufficient bandwidth to view, but well worth the wait. Stunning array of boats rafting, and all looked to be enjoying the sun. Rather better weather than we are enjoying in Penarth! Underwater disco looks spectacular, can you get Lumishore to virtualise the mirrored ball too? :)

Well thats done it! Where do I sign?? This could cost me a fortune, even perhaps a bigger boat! Seriously need to do some research and get more advice/search old threads. The videos are wonderful and portray the Med experience just as I imagine it. I'm sure there are some less idyllic days, but after a summer of battling the wind and drizzle a little too often here I'll take my chances... thanks for posting jfm, I think!

mmm tell more,
did you come to a interesting conclusion yet ? :)

Hi Bart, no conclusion reached yet. Initial thoughts were to base Eos close to a N France ferry port as we have 2 dogs and they need to come home in a car on the ferry, but now that I've retired our stays will/can all be longer so maybe we can fly us and the dogs to somewhere further afield such as S France or Croatia. The other thought is that rather than basing Eos in one particular port is that we effectively become water gypsies for the summer and then find a home for her for the winter. Also we need to think about installing air con. We managed fine when we went down to the Gironde a few years back, but the Med is I guess about another 5 - 10C hotter.

Lots of decisions to make and lots of discussions to be had beforehand.

... mirrored ball too? :)

People talk a lot about "research" and such like as regards going to the Med. IMHO you're overcomplicating it. Just decide whether you want to, and if you do then pick up the phone to order the airco if applicable, and book the lorry or the ship or the dates for sailing there. The research you do isn't going to make it any better, and much of the unknown stuff will become obvious when you get there. DougH made a great observation the other day when he said loads on here have moved to the Med (2001 in my case) yet no-one has ever come back to UK. The cruising opportunities and memories -shown on many many threads on here over several years as well as the videos above- are just priceless

Hats off JFM Match has it all - including its own Studio 54
:D :D
Actually the photos make the boat look rather emptier than s54 :). The boat has been full all summer (eg 22 people on board, not all at same time, on the Balearics cruise) but of course I follow the policy used by others of not posting pics showing people recognisably unless I know they are ok with it.

I have a few more pics on the "move to the Med" topic but to keep things tidy I'll post them in a minute on oGaryo's thread so as to keep that discussion all in one place

Hi Mapism I just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our last dinner at Nicolo last night after S told us she was putting you on a diet. His ravioli was to die for;);)

It's the new Seabob f5. It was a complete hit with all the kids (and adults!) all summer. Boats.co.uk are the dealers
Thats cool, I like that. I see it weighs 30kg. How do you handle it in and out of the water from the boat and how do you store it? Couple of other stupid questions. Presumably it floats in which case how is it ballasted in order to use underwater

Nice vids btw!

Easy mike. Yes 28kg, so it is like a heavy suitcase but has big handles so you just lift it around, and lift out of water. I haven't got a nice storage place so it untidily lives under my flybr aft staircase, and I often take it home in the car (my car is parked at boat transom remember) to run it in the pool to flush it and store it in garage. You honestly couldn't easily lift it to flybr or down into a crew cabin, so storage IS an issue, I gotta say

It floats but has perhaps 2-3 newtons of buoyancy only, so you do not need to ballast it to dive, but when you chuck it in the sea it floats, with something like 95% of its volume under water

I hsitatated before pressing "Send" on the email buying it (for about €8 grand) but honestly with the fun it provided this summer to a heck of a lot of people (and children in the 6-12 years zone) it was great value and I'd buy it again in an instant if anything happened to it

Beware the secondhand ones that are not F5. All the superyachts have bought f5 series and are selling the old seabobs that weight 60kg plus. Asking prices that I see are a few €k. The weight of those things is nuts - you can hardly drag them up the beach when you get there. Most people use a crane on them. And the performance is not materially different from the lightweight F5. The only one worth having in my book is the F5

Thanks for posting. It makes one wonder where technology will be in 15 years time... I bet not many of us thought of owning their own drone to create such spectacular images 15 years or so ago..

Great videos.

LOL, can't wait!
Though luckily, in the meantime, we had another couple of invitations for dinner from local friends in the next days, that swmbo just couldn't decline.
It looks like I'll manage to survive till your arrival, phew...!
