During our recent cruise to Balearics the owner of one of the boats we rafted with in Cala D'Or had a DJI Phantom 3 and took the video below. This was taken in Cala Gran, just round the corner from Cala D'Or, in exactly the same spot as the MBY/Mendez video about anchoring in the Med. We stayed in this spot about 3-4 days and different raft members came and went. I had 80 metres of chain out (my anchor was beyond the blue hulled sailboat) and a stern line to the rocks and wasn't going anywhere. I think there might be some more videos from the same source (the guy who owns the Sq65 far left of raft) soon and I'll post links. The blue hulled trawler yacht far right of the raft is my brother's m/y Silver Dee, and the Sq58 and Prin 57 are A+K's and Nick_H's boats.

Last Saturday morning we had the Top Gear production company on board again making a film about YouTubers and they got some great footage. They will be releasing a DVD Christmas 2015 and I'll post a link then.

Then last Saturday afternoon EME hired a drone photographer/pilot (www.axisdrone.com - very good guy, based in S. France) to take some shots of boats and underwater lights and we got an hour plus of great footage (with full rights/ownership). The video below is a quick edit of footage of my boat (done a bit quickly in iMovie on the plane back last night) and there might be some more later. There have been a few threads recently about moving to the Med to get better weather - the video below was taken 4-9pm approx, last Saturday 29/8/2015 and the weather all weekend was as you can see below. I don't think there is any better place on the planet to base your boat than the beautiful Med.

I haven't actually had time/energy to make a maiden flight with my own quadcopter (a DJI Phantom 3) but will post the results as soon as I can - maybe next weekend. Probably will be a crash and burn job like last time :D

You attach smartphone or tablet onto a holder atop the joystick remote box, and plug in USB cable. Then you watch in FPV at 720, plus you control various copter functions and the gimbal from the smartphone/tablet screen

Great filming, although obviously a bit disappointing to see un-matched bikini tops/bottoms
:D

Also the frame rate of the edit makes the u/water action look a bit exciting.

Stunning videos.

I thought you had taken some intensive tuition over the last few days and these were the results :p

Thanks for posting.

Ahhhh - the Baldricks

Great video
Great raft
I didn't think that there was enough space there.
Spent a couple of weeks in Cala D'or last year.
But then, this year we have "pushed the limits" and squeezed into some smaller spaces this year as well.
There always seems to be more space once you are in and can snorkel round.

Also blocked here in Italy. Might be a rights issue with the soundtrack?

Stunning

Does the anchor protrude so much for a reason?

The guy filming the second clip really knows his onions.....great work
Ha! You noticed the anchor! I let the anchor slip down while using the winch as a rope capstan that morning and am kicking myself for forgetting to pull it back into its home position. I thought no-one would notice but how wrong I was! :encouragement: While we're at it, the radar wasn't straight either! Grrr!
Yep the pilot/cameraman did a fine job. I have over an hour of footage so I have much more great stuff on the cutting room floor so to speak

The second vid is blocked everywhere except UK and Ireland, Youtube tell me, because of music copyright on the first tack (Planet Funk) not the second track (Rihanna). Here's another version with different first track. I'm glad I can keep Rihanna because that's the actual track we were playing with the sound-to-light underwater lights. I hope this works. If you have the bandwidth use full screen because it is in 720HD

Looks great at full screen in 720HD - I entirely withdraw my earlier comment as to frame rates!

Great thread, loved the videos so much I whizzed them over to the Apple TV so we could watch in on the main TV screen.
Did I spot a certain persons T40 in the background during the evening video?

The dancing just needs a bit of work!!

Ha, doesn't sell the Med at all! Much rather be here in the rain and cold, with the river flowing brown after the wettest August on record:(

This could be an expensive thread, Debs has just looked across to see the vids............and we were talking just a few minutes back about where we base Eos next year!

Also blocked here in Italy
Do tell J, whereabout?
Some friends we had onboard left today, Deleted User will fly back home tomorrow, and Pinnacle will only arrive next Monday.
Therefore, Swmbo is already planning for me a strict week of diet, to recover from the overindulgence of August...
An unforeseen visit from yet another forumite would be a great excuse for some decent eating & drinking!
