Boat jumble - worth the trip?

Question is whether it's likely to be worth my while spending the money (and time) tooling down the A14 to Ardeligh on Sunday

There's all sorts of basic kit we need for Brigantia and saving money over buying new would be very welcome (would it ever!). OTOH, whilst I don't mind s/h kit at all, I don't want tat

So in the opinion of independent forumites, will I be wasting the 4 odd hours on the round trip and the £30 plus quids worth of diesel or not?

I love them for entertainment value, the rubbish tea and worse hot dog.
They will have on ein Suffolk later in the year.
Not sure I would use 30 quids worth of fuel on it.

We had a Sunday lunch after one of the North Weald jumbles, anyone fancy that?

We shall be attending the Ardleigh event and having lunch at the September Battlesbridge event. I may event try and get Full Circle up to Battlesbridge for that one.

We went today, and although muddy underfoot and a bit windy, the sun shone more than not.

Of course, any jumble you get a bargain at, is worth the trip.

We got a WinchEasy for £35 which was £30 cheaper than we had seen elsewhere, and I got some real Lewmar lightweight spinnaker sheet shackles for £5 the pair and 2 tubes of silicon sealant for £3.

Noticeable was a bloke selling a Seagull for £200......

but also, lots of new/nearly new Waveline/Wetline rubba dubs for around the £250 mark, which is not bad really.

Usual mis-shapen lumps of ferrous oxide tossed around liberally with people jealousy guarding their treasure.

No Jimmy Green, which is a first I think.

Quite a lot of stalls, and quite well attended, and sensibly sizd , unlike the vastness of North Weald.

Yup ! Really enjoyed it too.

The balance between 'jumble' and chandlery stuff seemed about right.

Nice when you meet people from old as well.

Have to disagree - I thought there were very few stalls, not that many people and generally pretty pointless. No doubt in my mind, the internet and ebay are killing the whole idea.
