Boat Insurance UK Part 1 kept in Türkiye

I can only speak to my own experience. I and dual UK/German citizen resident in Germany, boat UK flagged and in Croatia.

Previous (pre-Bday) UK insurer refused cover stating that they had no EU presence, for those that did, I was forwarded to their EU operations.

It seemed to be residence which counted, and the ability of the insurance company to offer their services in that country of residence.

As UK residents you should have no problem insuring your boat with a UK insurer - just shop around.

This is based on the fact that I had no problem insuring a UK flagged boat, kept in Croatia, with a German insurer ... I was given quotes by multiple German insurers.

My previous experience was that UK and Ireland based insurers would not quote me when my boat was registered in Türkiye - granted I was also resident in Türkiye. My current boat is UK registered and I'm still resident in Türkiye - I'm insured with a UK company which had previously declined because of the Turkish flag.
