JFM Stunning....
Thanks jfm. I hope that will be the first of many fabulous cruises on Match.
I had no idea that Bonifacio looked like that.
Did the journos drink you dry and eat you out of house and home or are they still learning?![]()
Mmmm.... "so, what?" springs to mind.I don't think that's right Mapis. The analogy with the 60T boat that you make is not logical. The stabs add weight but they add hull volume too, so they are indeed weightless so far as the boat is concerned. i mean, they do not make the boat hull sit any lower in the water. Normally when you add hardware to a boat the existing hull volume has to support it, so the boat sinks a millimetre or two into the water. So I think his point is valid, if you see what I mean. (IMHO!)
Ok John, is there anything else to attract us to move Eos to the Med?:
. Jack is a pretty cool boat driver. It was pitch dark 11pm and I asked him to drive it into Villefranche marina and park while we took on water (watermaker is being commissioned next monday by the local dealer; unuseable till then). Villefranche is a VERY tight harbour for a 78 footer.
Bonifacio is stunning. It is up there in that list of ports you kinda need to do in your boating career. Valetta, Istanbul, SanFran-Golden Gate, Sydney Harbour bridge, Dartmouth, Monaco and a few others. It really does look precarious though with those houses built on what is now a chalky shelf...
Jack and Chantal were pretty accomplished drinkers and eaters, naturellement. They were delightful guests, lots of fun. He had the added pressure of 7 other guests incl the owner to see him mess it up, if he were to do that. But he drove it in perfectly, at a graceful 3 knots. Anyone on board or ashore would think there was a salty seadog 50 year old driving and I for one would have been smug if I'd driven it like that. I certainly couldn't do that when I was 21.
Super review! Thank u for sharing.
I see u mention Valletta as future destination. If you are around just drop a PM.
