Yup I stuck with rubber Neil. I realise that is old technology and there may be better stuff avaialbe, but the thing is that experience tells me that rubber likely wont fail in 1000 hours of use in the clean mediterranean, which is all I care about. To have introduced something non standard here would have eaten up engineering/customisation time (in a leap-into-the-dark kind of way - I mean I dunno how much time would have been eaten by swapping bearing material) that I didn't have, meaning something else would have had to be sacrificedNice to see how important the little details are, and how those details evolve (I've been reading most of the story). The attention to quality above the waterline is evident so I'm curious to know if you have still gone with rubber shaft bearings? seeing as you seem to have been involved down to the nuts and bolts of how she went together?
I hope the final stages go to plan, bet you can't wait to start some adventures with her.
