Boat in build pics (2013 Fairline Squadron 78)

I thought I was privelidged to work on some nice boats here and abroad but that John is absolutely stunning!!
If she does come to swanwick ill be here to take the lines for sure.

Thanks for sharing the pics with us all.

The 2/3rds - 1/3rds split Gary. They're meant to be split into 1/3rds, to line up OCD-ishly with the 3 appliances and also to stack away neatly when the laundry is in heavy use

Glad they can fix it. I could feel Match 3 coming on for a minute there :) :) Lovely boat jfm - an engineering tour de force.

I wonder if 3 large scatter cushions would have been the better option lols :)

without dwelling on an insignificant aspect of the boat in comparison to the splendor of the rest of her, it's always got my head scratching when I walk aboard these large vessels to see the attention to detail in making the look and feel of the interior flow. To then see white goods on display within the utility area sorta makes them look out of place. Wouldn't it be better to go for an integrated washing machine and dishwasher with the same paneling as the rest of the boat?

John - She looks bloody fantastic - Thanks for the latest update - Terry

+ 7 MILLION !!!!!!!!...........more swooning and dreaming fodder while trucking around the M25 !!!!!!! ... siiiiiiigh.....i,m in love !!!!!!...... JFM, will you be posting any pics of the "road trip"??....... THANKS FOR PICS JFM..

Hi Gary
I see your point and each to their own :D. In the aft utility, I actually like the 3 machines in a row :). This is "my" area rather than guest space and i like the "utilitarian-but-high end" feel. But I thought about your points at the design stage and so the design of the cabinets (carcass edge left exposed and top/bottom walnut trims just "planted on") has been deliberately done so that any future owner can easily add 3 walnut panels/doors to hide the front of the machines, if they wish. I have deliberately done it that way rather than buying "integrated" appliances like those washing machines that you can attach kitchen door hinges to: those appliances unfortunately are low spec and you cannot get the same high spec (in terms of Kg of load and 30min wash cycles, etc) in those appliances, at least not in Miele (and you'd be crazy not to spec Miele on a boat like this)

In the main galley the dishwasher has a display panel across the top rather than being fully integrated, though it does have a wood door below. Reason for chosing this model is that it is pretty clever, well over £2k worth, and does things like opening the door electrically a few inches then blasting the plates with hot air so everything is washed and dried in <30mins. To do all this it needs a touchscreen with softkeys rather than a few buttons on the top edge of the door as you'd get with a fully integrated, so I've had to pay the price (small imho) of having a control panel on display. The control panel shares the same touchscreen and softkey/menu architecture as the 2 ovens, so the chef only has to learn one basic Miele "menu language".

Hey, hey, you're getting all metropolitan again here. Scatter cushions and Miele appliances. This could be the Womens Institute forum or maybe Mumsnet. What's the world coming to, eh? Blokes drive throttles and steering wheels not bloody washing machines:D

Nah, she knows whats what. I drive the oily bits and she drives the white goods which I have to say are a lot more complex than the oily bits these days

As requested here are pics of the start of the road trip. It left the factory a couple of hours ago. It has 90miles to travel, in 2 days
