I have a recurring dream that I'm sailing my boat down rivers with less and less water until I'm sailing across muddy puddles, dried up river beds or even roads. Somehow the boat stays upright and keeps moving. My wife has exactly the same kind of dream.

There was a Sabre 27 aground just after HW on the Crouch on Sunday morning, still there Tuesday evening. I'll bet he has that dream now.

Vell, mein geistesgestoert freunde

Vot you hafe iss ein ernsthaftes Problem. Zee diminsing wasser iss representative ov ze way your monetary reserves are disappearing from ze onership of ze ship.

This is quite normal in your circumstances und a common complaint in others.

I regret zat withdrawal from ze boat owning syndrome whould have ze side effects MUCh graver zan persisting witt ze ailment. Panic attacks unt ze irrational purchasing of excessive magazines are not uncommon. Walking onto pontoons in strange harbours visited by car and engaging complete strangers in lengthy conversations resulting in abrupt cut -offs are also common. In some recent cases spending extended periods on internet yachting forums has also been observed.

As your klinical psychosis adviser I vould recommend zat you stay witt ze boat ownership unt put ze possibility of bankrott at the back of your mind.

Your freunde

Zigmund (Ziggy)

Here's my recurring boat anxiety dream:

My boat gets away from me and sails away down the river. We try and catch her, running down the bank, but can never quite catch up. She's got an uncommonly tall mast, being a rather overmasted Bermudan river yacht, and in the dream, you can see the mast over the trees in front of you, but can still never quite catch up with the boat. Eventually she gets to Great Yarmouth Yacht Station (always Yarmouth, never Lowestoft for some reason - she's never tried to make it into Lake Lothing) and tries to drift out to sea but the harbour authorities catch her and impound her and I have to pay a lot of money to get her back.

In the dream it doesn't look anything like the River Bure or anything like Yarmouth yacht station - but somehow I just know that's where we are.

Had that one a few times now. Boat is a relatively new purchase. When learning to drive and an inexperienced driver - constant dreams about trying to control out-of-control cars. Went completely with experience. Perhaps the same will happen with the boat.

Lay off the mature cheddar last thing at night

would be my suggestion. But yes, it seems we all seem to get dreams like this.

My problem is one during waking hours. When on the boat I have an overwhelming urge to throw the mobile phone overboard when using it in the cockpit. A bit like being on a tall building and having the urge to throw oneself off !

PLEASE. Someone tell me that this is normal !

I can recommend Ziggy F. He as a well trusted member of our society and charge you on the basis of LOA.

Happy sailings, Steffen

Re: I object.

She is most certainly over the age of consent
Some of them a bit too over now actually

If you really want to have a go at me. the dream involves a Squadron, this does worry me more. Its just that i cannot see mel b (scary) getting excited over a bavaria or beneteau

whereas a 60ft squadron. ..........

Beer! Now there's a temporary solution.
