Blue water boat

I am planning on changing my boat this season for something a little bigger about 35ft which I and the 1st mate can go blue water sailing. I have checked out the articles in the magazines and compiled a list, but has anyone out there got any views on particular boats. I would like to hear them to assist me in drawing up a short list.

I went round the world in a Moody 36 -- Angus Primrose.. very comfortable, good in a blow, really easy to handle single or double handed.. Not lots of dosh..

There was a forerunner to the Twister called the North Sea 24.
The 24 referred to LWL, the yacht being 31 feet LOA. Slightly bigger than the Twister she was just as easy to handle and had ample room for two persons. Mahogany planking on oak frames, but beware of ones built in Spain under licence as many had cascover sheathing. If you can find one built by Uphams of Brixham in good nick you will have a super boat "fit for purpose".

A fine looking design by Holman. As it happens, an Italian friend of mine has one he wants to sell. He has done a lot of work on her hull and she is afloat but the boat is in the USA and his work commitments have increased so he has decided to finish her and bring her to Europe to sell.

If you are interested I could put you in toch.

Queen Mary II is even bigger...... trouble is you need crew to run these bigger boats.... much nicer to be independent and do it yourself!
