Blue Solar Charge Controller help!

Is yourBM a No-1 ? if so you probably ly need a BM2...... Check it out .

Can't see how the BM can be a factor.

The existing one seems fine and has worked for 15 years with a similar battery configuration...(albeit only recently with intermittent solar)

Problem solved, now getting 4 to 5 amps in cloudy sunlight...

Not sure if wiggling things fixed an issue or disconnecting and reconnecting was the catalyst but it suddenly came to life...

I'll replace the lead to the batteries tomorrow, for now just letting it charge whilst I fix other broken things?

And just to check, now it’s charging is there still a voltage drop from one end of the cable to the other?

No...the first thing I noticed was that the votage at the MPPT dropped to the battery voltage (12.5v )and then the led began indicating bulk charge....
