Oh, and your English is way way better than my French, but I had to giggle at the line "Our Belgium friends living in Cassis came along for a shat and lunch", which is one of the funniest ever written on this forum.![]()

here is a bonus track,
our youngest leaving the boat
you can directly attach the marina fresh water line while you're moored, and turn off the onboard autoclave. Very convenient when staying moored for longish periods, 'cause you can avoid filling your freshwater tank and always have "fresh" fresh water, so to speak.
hopefully you might get the time to put up some more pics later. Perhaps even some of the engine room and installations?
I remember when we first took over the Princess, the battery system took a bit of working out, and we got caught a couple of times with flat batteries. Even now there is always a constant 240 V supply to the chargers.
not many technical photo's made Callum, just one from the engine, not uploaded yet.
I'm thinking of making a Blue Angel Rebuyld thread
some plans are made, we already did the new winch and a invertor,
but better wait until later, as the forum might have had enough of Blue Angel this season
I'm sure folks would find it interesting to see what needs replacing/repairing after 20 years of service, and the associated processes involved.
You tell a story well Bart, i think you would do a good job.
now I realise that I have disconnected the 230V supply to the boat, all systems are off,
I'm concerned that the battery's will be empty, and very difficult to charge after 5 weeks no usage, any idea / advice ?
I guess it depends how shut off the systems are, how many amps are drawn to run the alarm etc.
Has the marina management got a key to the boat, could you talk them through finding your supply cord and activating the charger/s.
but better wait until later, as the forum might have had enough of Blue Angel this season![]()
+1We can never have enough pictures and your stories of BA. Great pictures of a great looking boat, congratulations once more.

And now you know for sure that the teak is 12mm you know you can just sand it. ........ Just patch-repair the caulking if needed, then sand off 0.5mm, and the decks will look new
the caulking groofes were originally 3 to 4mm deep,
so now at some places the grooves are less then 1mm deep,
at some spots the caulking is gone,
was thinking of making deeper grooves, with a small electric cutter,
using a ruler or pattern, so that all grooves are equally spaced, and size, ...
what do the specialists think is the best method to restore the teak / caulking, how deep to cut these grooves, ?
have some guy's in Italy to do this work in winter time, but like to know in advance what's the best way to do this.
got this answer from one:
I don't know yet if we have space next week, so don't asc me about next year![]()

The technique therefore is to become "friends" so that you do get a berth.
To do this you have to visit them
Take Antibes as example....
