I have an old blooper that has never been used and I am thinking of selling it. Does anyone have any idea how much it'd be worth? With the come back of the old IOR boats racing around I would have thought someone might want one. The size of the boat is 32.5 ft.
Thanks
Tomar

There is a clue there; back in the day they were a fad that did not last, maybe it could be recycled in to something, you could give it to the kids to make a parachute? But stick it on Ebay and you never know what might happen.

Ok, thanks for the info, it's more or less what I expected to hear. Anyway, I might have found a good and honourable use for the blooper...how about reshaping it into a spare para anchor?

You fly a Balloon Mizzen Staysail, a gennaker is an early name for what is now known as a cruising chute

I am not sure that is the case, if you go racing you would never be seen dead with a cruising chute, you would have spent a lot more money on a couple of gennakers, North Finland offered a choice of three gennakers for our last boat which came with a Selden retractable sprit, I ordered the biggest on the principle that if there was any real weight in the wind I would not be using it.

I loved flying the blooper. It made the skipper appreciate me more when things went tits up.
Great fun & we always egged him on to let us fly it.
Sometimes we would fly it without the spinnaker if it was really windy to show the other boats that we had balls if not any sense at all

OK guys, WTF is a Blooper. Never heard of it and so never seen one and no idea how to rig one. Photos please!

Glad to see all this interest in bloopers...So, does anyone fancy having fun with one? I just happen to have one for sale, in immaculate conditions. Give me a shout.
