Hi All
does anyone have wisdom on the best way to bleed our engine coolant system please? We have just installed a new calorifier and need to refill the coil and system with coolant.

Normally you just need to keep filling it through the usual port and run the engine for a bit to flush out the air, then check the level, top up, run engine again etc until the level is stable. If you have rubber hoses then squeezing the pumping the hoses as well often serves to speed up the process.

The engine coolant system will not be a problem, as others have said. Just fill, run engine for a bit and top up as required. However, if the coolant hoses to the calorifier go down then up to the calorifier you may get an air pocket at the calorifier. On mine I have a bleed valve at the calorifier (you could fit a domestic radiator bleed valve) and once the engine is a bit hot and the system is under pressure, carefully bleed out the air at the calorifier until just coolant comes out.
