I do sometimes wonder which century some companies in this trade are working in. Portland Plotters from Mark Dowland Marine, doesn't matter how many I order I have a "free delivery day" and for me apparently this is a Friday. I only buy this item from them so I'm not very up-to-date on their little ways.

My order today is is too late for tomorrow, so I must wait a week for a delivery. Doesn't matter if I double the order quantity, if I want a delivery before then its going to be another £15.00.

My order to Seago Yachting for safety lines on the other hand was made at about 4.30 yesterday and was with me by lunchtime today.

Why the difference? I think this once a week service level isn't good enough. I would understand it if they used their own van, but they use a commercial carrier. Daft. I've got enough in stock for my retail customers but not enough to meet my trade orders.

Kicks wall and stamps foot.

I have adopted an attitude of if I don’t like the service I don’t use them. Lots of businesses today seem to forget that they are in service industries. /forums/images/icons/frown.gif I now longer use the chandlers at the marina because of poor service they provide, I choose to spend my hard earned cash elsewhere????

Martins telephone number is usefully located on the boat!! However I do apologise for that since I did forget.

The harbour office at Yarmouth, or the Tourist Office at Yarmouth, should both be able to provide a contact number is you ask about lifeboat trips. Ummm, I will also check the mob, it just might be there.

It's OK if you can get them anywhere else, but you can't. Blundell Harling won't supply me direct and Kelvin Hughes is no longer really a wholesaler, they say they are but they couldn't give me any hard information, I tried this afternoon. The lady at head office told me to go to their web site and order, (so retail).

That's orful! I ordered recovery discs for my laptop from HP in Sacramento, CA at 4.00pm one day and they were here at 10.00am the following day. It's only 3000 or so miles from here to there. I don't know when they would have arrived if I had asked for express shipment! That's wot I call service.
