Yes, and you mentioned cleaning and greasing which can't be done properly with the cone in situ.

The keep plate orientation was wrong as previously noted. Once I had turned the keep plate 180, then the valve was able to open as designed. However, as the system had evidently been like this for a number of years, the 65 litre holding tank outlet was blocked solid, this took several hours to clear.
