Black leather

The photies however are another story and certainly weren't taken fifty years ago or even on the same occasion, I fear. Two different parties, helmets, harnesses, kernmantel ropes, and chalkbags would date those pictures as from no earlier than about the late 80s. I think we should be told the full story.

Hate to correct a fellow Rival owner, but surely all those things bar chalk were widespread by the early 70s? Chalk and kernmantle both date from the fifties, although weren't common until much later (chalk especially); Whillans' harness was maybe late 60s and helmets earlier still. It's the clear blue sky in Snowdonia that really calls the photos' accuracy into question ;)

And well done oldbilbo for your classic climb, even if it gives a whole new meaning to the concept of exposure. My first climbing instructor was a chap named J Brown, so the Corner has a special resonance.
P.S. Not quite the Corner, but next door, you might be interested in this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=O6CTK2hFvrw

I fear your memory or photographic filing is at fault. CC was only 120' even 50 years ago. It's a good Gwen Moffat story though, whether true in every detail or not...... I think we should be told the full story.

'KenMcCulloch', m'dear....

You may well have it right when you call into question my photographic filing, for I certainly did not take those pics - did not even own a camera then - which were selected and inserted here clearly for illustrative purposes. I was busy with other matters at the time. However, even my detractors will admit I exercised commendable restraint, for a wholly accurate pictorial depiction of the central matter would most certainly have resulted in a swift 'billet doux' from the Spanish Inquisition at IPC Towers! My addled memory told me the run-out was as I mentioned, and I did not think to check, but it matters little.

The rest of it - the moral of the tale - was exactly as described. I was there. Oh, yus....

Add a gimp mask?

I have a black balaklava. Will that do...?

And, not having been invited to one of Webby's Wild Weekends for some time, I had to google-search, too. P'rhaps a couple of points scored there, O WeeblyOne! ;)

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=gimp

gimp
(1) a derrogatory term for someone that is disabled or has a medicial problem that results in physical impairment.

(2) An insult implying that someone is incompetent, stupid, etc. Can also be used to imply that the person is uncool or can't/won't do what everyone else is doing.

(3) A sex slave or submissive, usually male, as popularlized by the movie Pulp Fiction.
Look at that gimp in the wheelchair

Dude, quit being a gimp and take a hit!

Bring out the gimp!

I'm thinking this post is rapidly becoming 'Loungeworthy'.

Re-cover your spray dodgers and hood. Add studs. Get haircut like Mel Gibson circa 1979. There, as it were, you very much are...
