Yesterday afternoon, the wind did its usual trick, and went off somewhere else leaving me going nowhere. Hot and sunny though, and a sandy beach not too far off, so bit of sunbathing I thought. Slung the hook, pumped up the rubber ring, and paddled ashore. Imagine my surprise on stepping out of the dinghy and looking up to find everyone on the well poulated beach starkers. Seems like I'd stumbled into the middle of the local nudie beach, where everything was on show and flapping about in the calm.

Feeling a bit overdressed, and not to be outdone, I soon lost my trolleys and partook in a bit of wholesome family streaking.

It wasn't marked on the chart though. I think it shoud be, can anyone suggest a suitable symbol? My chart is now annotatd with a figure of an appropriately wobbly bottom.

Would be helpful if you could give us Lat/Lon for this beach. Of course, only interested so that I can make sure I avoid it, you understand.

Re: Lat/long

Damn & blast, suspect that with my long ....... access might be a bit tricky, would have to go round the causeway bouy. Anyway, adds another dimension to the area known "Eastern passage". :))

Re: Lat/long

You will be able to get through the Eastern passage of Sarn Badrig no problem. I used to with my X99. Going southwards, there's a bit of a wiggle to do round a much smaller shallow finger that comes out from the point, but there's plenty of water. The banks have been there since the last ice age, they don't seem to change much in depth, and the chart seems accurate.

You won't be able to get as close to the nuddy beach though, it shelves slowly. Take some good binoculars.

I think they should be marked on charts as some kind of danger, it amazing how quickly your crew loose the attention when sailing past one!
