What do you want to know

I am based on the Thames

know I sold a few in my time, huge boats for the money so fire away!

I too had one on the Thames. A brilliant boat with a clever use of internal space. It was our first boat, and we went from Oxford to London and found it was just the right size, for the few low bridges, overnight stays on the riverbank and all those damn locks.

I used to love extending the helm seats very high, so we could look over the windscreen while gliding along. Having said that I personaly got bored with the river, so had it transported to the south coast after our first year.

As regards performance, upgrades etc, it depends what the fit-out is, ie petrol, diesel, shafts, outdrives etc. As regards looks, I would say the angled side windows look cheap, to which end I painted on a simulated ally frame, which made it look heaps better.

Before I sold it I had a new rear cover fitted, with higher rear struts, so that we had full headroom all the way to the back seats. So in bad weather we could all sit round in comfort.

The only other negative point was the gas heater, ours had, which was a bit smelly and probably now, would not pass the safety certificate.

I've only seen about two on the Thames. One I remember was based near Henley .

Sorry to seem mine go, but had already converted to it's big brother.

If you've got any more questions, then fire away.

Rgds

Not so. There is a lot of information about the more popular Birchwoods like the 25. Sadly there has not been much posted about the larger Birchwoods, although we now have some info on the Birchwood 33s.

It is reliant on participation. Asking questions about a comparatively rare model and then complaining that no-one has answered is not really helpful.

There is no membership fee for the forum, it exists only to allow people to communicate about their boats.

I do hope you find information on your boat, and that when you do you will post it on the B.O.A. forum for the benefit of other owners (and prospective owners).

I never complained about anything.. I go to that forum about once a week to check out all the postings and was simply commenting on the very low number of any kind of postings...
and I have yet to see a forum that you have to pay for..

There are forums where full functionality requires a paid for membership, or are members only. The Broom Owners Club forum requires you to be registered and logged in even to view postings (unlike the Birchwood & Fairline forums).

A single make forum will never be all that busy...even The Thames Forum here is not hugely busy, but that does not make it the quietest forum on the internet.
