Dropped ours at the weekend and now useless.

Need a new pair and don't want to spend hundreds for the replacement of a £40 pair.

Can anyone recommend a pair of 7x50's?

We've found this pair from Compass to be excellent. Only problem we've had was that the battery connection (to illuminate the compass at night) has corroded, but that's no great loss as I prefer to use the sighting compass anyway.

They were well reviewed in one of the mags a few years ago.

try the plastimo fixed/auto focus ones. we got ours a few weeks ago - brilliant.
i`d been experiencing difficulty focusing due, i suppose, to age assisted deteriorating eyesight but these have dispensed with the problem. also handy if more than one person uses them.
i think i saw them on purplemarine website at c £32 last week

Agreed, the 89.95 ones are very good value, with good optics.
Not sure if they are 4 times inferior to the Steiners for the money......

We have had a pair of the Compass marine binocoms for about 3 years or so. As binos they are superb ,nice soft rubber cups for specs wearers easy to focus ,clear image and have stood up to some hard knocks.A little bit heavy.

As a compass they are very accurate in quiet weather day or night but in any sort of sea I find it easier to use my Iris handbearing compass.

For the money good value IMHO.

Sadly, our daughter was carted off to hosp in the middle of the night, so we were waiting to see what happened. All OK now, returning to the boat in an hour or so.

Just back from Jessops.

Purchased a very nice light pair of Binos - Jessop's own make 8x40 at £29.99

...and if I drop them I wont burst into tears!

Fujinon 7x50 with compass. Good optics, light and tough, best sub-£100 yachting binos I have ever tried. Monks Optics at the S'oton Boat Show usually do them at a good price.
