Better a 15yo Jeanneau 45.1 or a 6yo Bavaria 42 Cruiser?

Why do people have to denigrate others' choices to justify their own? Is it an insecurity thing?

No idea. But please don't shatter the perception... it keeps the prices down for those who appreciate them.

I have the same with Bayliner. Compared to UK brand boats of the same size it gives me everything I want but leaves more than enough change to buy a Bavaria as well :-)

You are quite correct.

Plus, because of the "swingy keels", my boat was a huge bargain in comparison. IMO, my Bav is a great vessel and far more boat for the moolah than some snot nosed sailing snob's view of what is considered a "pukka" sail vessel.

I am considered a mere upstart as I pass them with only my main.... :D:D

Their loss and my gain.:D:D

Thats some chip you have on your shoulder!

Good post, take hand grenade, remove pin and lob into scuttlebutt.

If you are able to replace an engine/hose/cutlass bearing, the jeanneau. If not the Bav. But enjoy whichever you choose.
