Does anyone have experience of transferring all the faceplate items on a Beta A panel to a new faceplate ? Assume by inspection that all the items will, with the spades connectors removed and a bezel or ring unscrewed, either come forward or backwards out of the old plate.Particular question : are the star grippers as seen here on the back of the led's a proprietary part of the face plate or a standard and readily available control box accessory ?

Yes ,Beta normally helpful but in this case can only sell me a new complete A unit including the extension loom for £225 plus carriage.
i.e. there are no faceplates available.I can make a new faceplate but like to explore the job in hand before committing .

Even if you can't get those exact led holders there are plenty of others. The LEDs will be a standard size, Beta don't make those. Measure the led dimensions & have a look on RS. You will lose half a day mesmerized by how many you have to choose from. RS is a dangerous website for those short of time ?

Hoped to be able to retain the current lamps because of compatibilty issues but at least I am now looking for 'panel Indicator lamps' should I need replacements and e.g. Railway Scenics or 12 Volt Planet throws up 12v Neon or Incandescents of the same type and connection ,which presumably I could test for voltage range.I suppose that dismantling will reveal all.
(Meanwhile it has been suggested that I just get on with the house and spend the money with Beta .)

The ignition charge lamps MUST be incandecent filament bulbs usually 5w rating otherwise your alternator/s may not excite. You can use shunt resistors of 560 ohms 3 watt rating with LEDs and lower wattage incandescent though.
Neons are mains voltage, not 12v.
