Best treatment for slight rust on keel?

only 3 elements cause rust. Remove any one of the 3 and you have no rust.

The elements are:
Steel - water - Air.

Pedant warning::dread:......none of which are elements.....could be a 70s funk band? (sorry, just meant to amuse?:confused:)

Although none of those mentioned is a chemical element, water and air are two of the four classical Aristotelian elements (the others being earth and fire).

serious reply this time

we have just bought a boat with a bit of rust on the twin keels. surveyor advised wire brushing back to clean metal, owatrol, primer and then antifoul. Did the wire brushing with an attachment on a drill.

Ive replaced all the anodes and I'm going to keep her in the water this winter as i missed a lot of this season...and take her out the winter after. If the anti fouling lasts till then.
