Best summer memory

:p giving a certain friend a lot of grief over a weekend of training!!!

not been much boating for me this summer but hope to change that from next year! New Town will be right up there on the list, lovely spot for a picnic and relax.

For me it must be an afterdark spin in the dinghy back from a restaurant, and looking behind me to see my wash aglow with phosphorescence.

Must have spent 20 minutes going around in circles watching it :-)

Not as romantic but.................. you often get the same when you pump the heads in the dark !

Been a great year for us with a much improved ratio of trips to breakdowns! We've thus had many great trips, solo, with friends and in friends boats so hard to pick a single one but probably the Plymouth and the Tamar up to Calstock. A 30 mile road trip on trailer, but launched for free and parked for free (unheard of in Torbay!). We went out in a huge swell on the Saturday with two other boats and ventured around to The Yealm. On the Sunday, we headed around past the Hoe, Barbican, Mt Edgecumbe and Devonport (never seen so many police launches!), before heading under the iconic Tamar bridges up the Tamar with the same friends. Great day had by all and no breakdowns! Planning to repeat on October 5th and get up to the weir at Gunnislake. :)

At anchor for 7 hours just outside Newtown Creek, trip to the beach, a little swim then lashings of Pinot Rose while enjoying the July heat wave.

Watching the sun rise over the Hamble was a close second though

For me I used the boat less this year but still 2 firsts, the first one was sleeping on the boat which I did with my son at Mercury waking up to a beautiful calm morning. The second was circumnavigating the Isle of Wight in my current boat ( I had done it before in my previous boat) in less than favourable conditions. It was not the most enjoyable trip but it was good experience and the boat handled it well. Hoping for more family trips next year as the kids are getting a little bit older.
