Can anyone recommend a sail valet emporium that actually cleans sails rather than simply makes them smell of bleach then put them back in the bag nicely folded :)
Mine could do with a deep clean this year.

Following Tillergirl's write up in East Coast Sailing I have just used Ocean Gowen at Mersea. They are washed flat not in a machine. I was also influenced by the fact that they collected and delivered them to the marina FOC. I put them back on last week and they still crackle nicely. First clean for 4 years since new. £116 but no repairs required.

Funnily enough, that's where I normally take them. Must admit I have never asked how they wash them.
no
Gowen do it in house
Confused.

Are you saying that Jeckells send them to Gowen. Or Jeckells now do them in-house.

Only asking cos Jeckells are valeting mine and I previously had them done by Gowens and I wasn't very impressed. They didn't really look like they had been cleaned - and they certainly weren't 'examined' as they'd missed some damaged stitching and a leech line cleat that needed replacing :p .

I have no idea what Jeckells do
Gowen have their own man in West Mersea

Sail & Cover, Woolveerstone. They do the valeting for quite a lot of local sailmakers.
