You’ve only got 3 choices. Falmouth Haven, Falmouth Marina or Mylor Harbour. I’d ring them for their price.

falmouth haven was £1.56 , 60/40 the other day, better pricing in plymouth if your trip works with that

Come down here via Fowey. A lovely stopover, very pretty and only 20 miles east of Falmouth. The other BIG reason - diesel last week was £1.19 ppl. A high turnover of fuel there as tugs, fishing boats and other ferries, etc all based there - apart from the liesure craft.
Beware the fuel barge in Falmouth, it has a bad reputation for dirty fuel.

damn, wish i had known, will be checking fuel tank sumps tommorow for rubbish, allthough now in guernsey after crossing from salcombe ( thick fog last 20 miles

Presuming you mean the Falmouth Haven barge, that's not my experience. The upside of it being too small means that there is frequent turnover (refilled 2-3 times a week in peak season)l

do you mean the prepay meter fuel by the pilot boats ,or Toms yard ? I am pleasantly surprised either are at £1.19, I try and avoid getting fuel there, I always assume its expensive - thanks

The upstream one where the pilot boats moor. It's on a card prepay so 24 hour access.
Re the fuel barge: it's obviously just gossip then. It's just what I have heard.
Whilst on the subject of fuel and dirty fuel; I had hideous diesel bug in my boat - luckily I realised before she went on the water this season. But still a lot of work - cut a hole through the saloon floor, then through the top of the S/S tank and then the cleanup mission. Then had to make a sealed hatch for the tank! But all sorted.
I have been looking at the various bug treatments out there. I put a load of bug killer in the tank as because of internal baffles I wasn't able to get it as clean inside as I would have liked. I was going to use Marine 16 as it's readily available locally and has a good reputation - used by RNLI, etc.. But when you read up on it, it causes the water to drop out of the fuel. My problem is that I have no sump or tank drain on my boat so it will just wash around the bottom of the tank feeding any bugs that land there.
I spoke to the guys at Truro based Fuel Specialist Services - it's all they do, treating fuel, cleaning tanks, maintaining scores of emergency generator tanks and fuel lines, sorting superyachts and other commercial craft. Anyway, they use Coval Aquasolve and swear by it. It changes the fuel and causes the water to stay suspended in safe levels so that it gets burned and doesn't build up in the bottom of the tank. It's supposed to improve performance too.
I put some in at the weekend when I topped up my fuel and I honestly felt that the engine had a bit more oomph - probably my imagination.
Anyway, wanted to share this.
