My boat rode over my 35 lb CQR anchor when drying out at the weekend and bent the shank - not too seriously, it's about 1" out of alignment at the end. Any suggestions about getting it put right would be most appreciated.

You could take it to a local engineers, who have a bearing press, they can put it in that and straighten it. But one inch out of alignment, I wouldn't bother.

I had a similar problem that I repaired by placing the anchor on the ground with the bend arching upwards. I then hit it with a large hammer. The correct shape was fairly easy the get & I assumed that because the bent was not too bad that no permanent damage resulted.

As a manufacturer of anchor.. I will never accept on my own boat, an anchor with a bent shank..
It is always possible with any anchor to bend the shank.. By Spade, we replace it.. Free of charge (of course)
