we have now sold our liveaboard mobo and got the money in the bank. We have had an offer( quite a cheeky one ) on a 1998 benny oceanis 36 center (sorry centre) cockpit accepted and have our survey and sea trial booked for 6th May.

IS there anything other than the usual that I might not have thought of that we should look out for on the survey? She has a composite rudder, is that cause for concern? This boat is visually in as new condition, It is one owner from new (delivered from France, not a USA built boat) and spent much of it's short life so far in cold upstate New York (wintered ashore under a full fitted csanvas cover but with more recently a move to Florida but thence with canvas covers fitted over much of the topsides above deck and to protect all brightwork exposed to the sun since she has been used as a floating condo home rather than as a cruisy boat in the southern sun She has all the bells and whistles in place for cruising the islands and Caribbean very comfortably EXCEPT for the owner's wife who really wanted and now has a motor boat.

I think this is a perfect boat for us two wrinklies and previously long time raggies as a regular weekender and long vacationer rather than liveaboard full time but I would appreciate the comments of others who know the boats better. Wee want to cruise the Bahamas and the shallowish draughtof 5.5 ft helps for there and here in the intracoastal waterway and the in-mast furling ( I know I WAS a big critic in th past, but circumstances changed) helps me with reefing/furling after my stroke made me just a tad less agile.

Has anyone fitted a Brunton Autoprop to one of these ,because we had one on our last sailboat and really rate them?

Sailed one a few times, found her well mannered and roomy. Not there to win races but a comfortable cruiser. Hope you enjoy your new yacht and happy cruising!!
