Has anyone replaced the wiper blades on a Beneteau Antares 760? The internet offers lots of 60 cm blades by different manufacturers, but with different fittings. I need to know who manufactured the originals. Any ideas?

I do not have the original pantograph arms on my Antares 760 and have never seen a 760 that has not now got single arms. There are no makers marks on my arms but they look just like "500mm long A8 DIN 72783 shaft with M6 nut (Durite arm part number 0-891-01)". However, I too had the problem of finding blades to fit the arms I have and eventually I made some tufnel adaptor pieces which I screwed to the ends of my arms that enable me to use standard car blades from Halfords or other car spares shops to make it easier in the future and always now keep a second pair on board. The paint finish on standard steel car wiper blades will easily last a couple of years or you could try the all plastic blades that many cars are now using.

I bought a single blade for my port side wiper to try from a car spares shop but it is shaped like an archers bow and the arm don't seem to be strong enough to keep the blade flat against the screen so centre of blade misses,
Why do they make the arms so short when at slow speeds the blade wipe is too low.

I can't find a maker's name anywhere. Rather than risk buying the wrong blade and having pondfish's problem I am thinking about replacing only the insert, perhaps with silicone. "Unversal" ones are cheap on e-bay so nothing to lose.

Good idea but I tried this and discovered there are two widths of inserts and I bought the wrong width because I was not aware. In case someone is interested attached are two pictures showing the adaptors I made so I could use common car blades.

In the past I have used ROCA, VETUS an one more i can’t remember all on my Ocqueteau.
Do not use ordinary car wipers made of metal as they rust and stain your boat, don’t ask how I know.

On my 760 i used extra long wiper blades from a Jaguar in a scrap yard. the ones with the crank in them work and fit perfectly.

My 760 came with single arm wipers that have the same connector fitting as a car.
I buy 24inch 60cm Bosch all plastic/rubber ones.
They work a treat, don't rust and cover as much as the windscreen as possible.
Just have to press the arm down firmly after fitting to ensure full coverage.

Would prefer pantographic wipers but the upgrade is pretty pricey from what I have heard.
